In the aftermath of the Rentboy.com shutdown, Red Light Legal will be facilitating a Know Your Rights training for sex workers at risk of policing by law enforcement Wednesday, September 9 6:30 – 9:30pm.
This free workshop is designed to help empower sex workers to enforce their rights when interacting with law enforcement.
Topics will include:
- An overview of laws criminalizing sex work in Oakland
- Breakdown of your rights when dealing with police interactions (searches, warrants, court/arraignment process)
- How to document/report police misconduct
- Q & A
The training will be held in Justice Now’s office located at 1322 Webster Street, Suite 210., located 3 blocks from 12th Street BART station with ample free street parking after 6pm.
